Positive Outlook for Germany's Cosmetics Market

The German cosmetics and personal care market was worth about 13 billion euros in 2014, according to figures gathered by Cosmetics Europe.

The country's professional cosmetic service providers, meanwhile, are "experiencing an economic upswing," according to the organizers of the forthcoming Beauty Dusseldorf. The industry employs 95,000 people who generage annual sales of about 2.2 billion euros.

The event organizers note that 67% of its attendees are self-employed and have a positive outlook on the economy. This year, attendees will focus on areas such as medical skin care, natural cosmetics and spa care, hygiene rules, wellness and care for cancer patients.
