Pratt Institute hosted it’s annaul Art of Packaging Award Gala, honoring Groupe Pochet, May 22, 2018 in New York City.
Model and actress Carol Alt served as mistress of ceremonies for the event, which benefits the Marc Rosen Scholarship for Packaging by Design. The evening began with a video presenting Groupe Pochet, giving insight to the company’s 400-year history, after which Pratt president Frances Bronet recognized the students, Rosen and Groupe Pochet.

Tristan Farabet, managing director and Irene Gosset, executive board president, accepted the evening’s eponymous award. “We always like to push… the limit of what is feasible,” Gosset said of the French company, attributing its success to its collaborators and designers. Farabet thanked the consumers and Pratt packaging design students.
Marc Rosen followed at the podium, praising Groupe Pochet (“Their innovations will continue to serve as inspiration for our students, who are the designers of tomorrow”) and introducing Hadar Kfir, recipient of the Marc Rosen Scholarship for Packaging by Design. Kfir, an Israeli national, spoke of the ways in which design transcends language and nationality.
The evening closed with a presentation of Pratt’s Merit Award Recipients: Huei Tai Chen, Hyewon Im, Hyeryun Nam and Pandara Chanyatanavut.
