This year marks the 60th anniversary for Aptar Beauty's Verneuil d’Avre et d’Iton site, which is leading the charge toward more a sustainable future in packaging.

Located in Normandy, France, the site has been a cornerstone of Aptar Beauty’s operations, producing packaging solutions for some of the most prestigious fragrance and beauty brands in the world.

The site was established in 1965 as STEP (Société Technique de Pulvérisation) Paris and acquired by Aptar subsidiary Valois in 1993. All operations were consolidated under Aptar banners in 2010.

Over the decades, the Verneuil d’Avre et d’Iton site has evolved, producing approximately 1 billion products annually, including valves, airless systems and miniature packaging.

With more than 250 employees and a 20,000 m² footprint, the site has implemented several initiatives to reduce its environmental footprint and support a circular economy model.

Key actions include:

  • Recycling 95% of plastic materials used during production.
  • Phasing out polyoxymethylene (POM) in both existing and new products.
  • Integrating post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials into packaging designs.
  • Offering recyclable solutions to enhance the end-of-life usability of products.

Moreover, the site has earned multiple certifications, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 50001:2018, ISO 22716 (GMP) and Landfill Free status.

The Verneuil d’Avre et d’Iton site's teams have spearheaded the development of products like Easy Spray, a bestseller in fragrance sampling, and the iD SCENT range, a paper-based sampling solution made entirely from recyclable mono-material paper.

The site’s operational capabilities have included the development of Nomad Refill, a refillable purse spray that can be refilled directly from a perfume bottle under five seconds.

It also includes new machines such as an additional filling line and the site’s first electric molding presses.

“Thanks to the expertise and agility of our teams, the Verneuil-d’Avre-et-d’Iton site will continue to reinvent itself to adapt to emerging market trends and deliver the best of French manufacturing to our customers," said Cyril Chevalier, operations director, Aptar Verneuil d’Avre et d’Iton.

“Within five years, Aptar’s Normandy platform aims to become a global benchmark for our prestige fragrance and cosmetics clients in terms of innovation, quality and service," said Jean-Noël Coninx, Normandy operations director, Aptar Beauty.
