BASF has joined the Forum for Sustainable Palm Oil (FONAP).

BASF is currently one of the leading processors of oleochemicals, of which palm kernel oil and its derivatives are key raw materials. It has joined the FONAP "supporter" category, a new membership option for companies in the upstream part of the palm oil chain.

Daniel May, the secretary general of FONAP, stated, "We welcome BASF as an official supporter member of FONAP. We are happy to strengthen our network and multiply our joint efforts."

Xavier Susterac, SVP BASF personal care, Europe, said, “Becoming an official supporter of FONAP is an important signal for BASF in its ongoing efforts to foster sustainable oil palm products. This underlines our commitment to transform the market towards sustainable renewable resources and to help our customers fulfill their FONAP commitments.”

BASF joins 44 other companies as current members of FONAP.
