L'Oréal Groupe has announced the appointment of Ali Goldstein as president of acquisitions for L’Oréal USA. In this role, Goldstein will oversee the identification of American beauty brands and services for potential acquisition or investment, working across all four L’Oréal divisions: Mass Market, Luxury, Dermatological, and Professional Beauty.

She will report directly to David Greenberg, CEO of L'Oréal USA and president of the North America Zone. Goldstein succeeds Carol Hamilton, who will retire after a 40-year tenure with the company.

Since 2019, Goldstein has served as U.S. president of L’Oréal Paris, the largest brand within L’Oréal USA’s portfolio. Her career at L’Oréal USA began in 2001, during which she held multiple leadership positions across L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline, and Garnier.

Highlights of Goldstein’s career include:

  • Successfully leading Maybelline’s team to reclaim its status as the #1 makeup brand in the U.S.
  • Driving the launch of Whole Blends and Micellar Water during her tenure with Garnier, both of which are now cornerstone products of the brand.
  • Serving as senior vice president, strategy & business development for the consumer products division, where she spearheaded strategic growth initiatives and identified new business opportunities, including acquisitions.

David Greenberg, CEO of L'Oréal USA and president of the North America zone, said,“Ali Goldstein’s unmatched knowledge of the industry and the American beauty market, her sensitivity to spotting emerging trends and scouting new business opportunities, and her decades-long experience of building powerful brands and setting them on a course for growth make her the perfect candidate to lead our company’s brand acquisition strategy into the future.”
