Paris will host the next installment of in-cosmetics for the biggest show in its 26-year history. From 12-14 April 2016, finished product manufacturers will gather to see the latest innovations and developments in the industry.
The show has two added attractions in the form of a Formulation Lab and a brand new Sensory Bar concept. Both features aim to give visitors more hands-on experience from experts in the field. The Formulation Lab, coming to Paris for the first time, will connect technical delegates with ingredient suppliers in a laboratory setting, hosting several interactive one-hour sessions each day. Next door the Sensory Bar will be unveiled for the first time. It will showcase formulations with innovative textures or unusual sensations to be tried out by visitors.
Aside from the features, the show is a must-attend event for professionals in the cosmetics industry. It is free to attend and the exhibition will be 1,000m2 bigger than last year with more than 700 international suppliers showcasing the latest cutting edge ingredients, raw materials and technologies, alongside the new interactive show features.
The global cosmetics market is set for growth and is anticipated to increase in value to US$675bn by 2020 (Research and Markets). While Western Europe is a key contributor, North America continues to be the largest personal care market in the world, comprising 18 percent of the sector and boasting more than 2,000 cosmetic manufacturers.
Currently worth US$78.1bn, the USA’s beauty and personal care market’s retail value is expected to shoot up to US$89.5bn by 2019, according to Euromonitor International. Should the sector achieve growth predictions, it will have increased by almost 35 percent in just 10 years. For this reason, in-cosmetics has put the spotlight on the US in the Market Focus feature of the show.
The event, supported by the US Department for Commerce, aims to showcase the reasons for the USA’s strength in the sector and help visitors create the next wave of products. As well as more than 40 US-based exhibitors on the show floor, including Ashland and Elementis, there will be a dedicated US-focused pavilion, which will house raw materials and ingredients businesses from across the region.
The program will put US-based ingredients businesses on a pedestal, allowing our international visitors the opportunity to source its most exciting new ingredients. Meanwhile, those looking to bring their products into the US will have the chance to learn about the trends influencing consumer demand and shaping the future of the world’s largest personal care market.
Visitors will also be able to choose from a wealth of free-to-attend informative marketing trends presentations, innovation seminars and half-day workshops conducted by experts, covering topical industry matters, as well as crucial regulatory areas for personal care professionals.
A host of industry experts will speak at the event including Irina Barbalova, Head of Beauty and Personal Care from Euromonitor International, who will discuss the global personal care overview and outlook, and David Tyrell, Global Skincare Analyst for Mintel, who will focus on US trends and their local and global impact.
Meanwhile, the Innovation Zone will showcase more than 80 recently launched ingredients and technologies, as well as live demonstrations of innovative finished products, handpicked by Mintel.
