On April 9, 2026, BASF announced the launch of two new cosmetic actives: NeoHelix Regenerate and SkinNexus Collag3n, both focused on skin rejuvenation. The company will showcase these ingredients and unveil its new chapter in collagen science at in-cosmetics Global 2026 in Paris, France.
“Collagen is the most abundant protein in the skin and provides a supportive scaffold that maintains skin integrity,” the company’s press release states. “With collagen levels naturally decreasing with age, BASF’s innovations offer novel strategies to support and preserve this structural integrity.”
NeoHelix Regenerate is a biomedical-inspired peptide engineered to support collagen and enhance the skin’s natural communication and self-repair. The ingredient is especially bioavailable to areas of damage, delivering renewal where the skin needs it most. According to the company’s in vivo study in which skin biopsies were taken from five female subjects aged 60 to 70, the samples experienced a 41% reduction in damaged collagen after 56 days of using NeoHelix Regenerate. A separate in vivo study confirmed that the ingredient’s adaptive collagen rejuvenation delivered visible improvements in the appearance of skin thickness, tonicity and forehead wrinkles.
SkinNexus Collag3n is a recombinant collagen III fragment produced by vegan yeast fermentation. This ingredient has a completely human-identical sequence and biomimetic effects that support the skin’s extracellular matrix. Clinical studies conducted by BASF demonstrated measurable improvements in skin tonicity and sagging appearance, as well as a visible reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles after four weeks.
“Both ingredients are impressive examples of the innovative power that strong partnerships can unleash,” said Lucilene Veira Nunes at BASF. “By working with the skin’s own biology, we are moving from traditional collagen-support claims to more advanced renewal and preservation across multiple levels.”
