L’Oréal Groupe and South Korean beauty ODM Cosmax have signed an MOU to collaborate on next-generation beauty products, with sensory innovation and ingredients among the central areas of development.

Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO, L'Oréal, said, "Beauty serves as a vibrant bridge between our cultures and a strategic industry for both countries. As we celebrate 140 years of diplomatic relations between France and South Korea, I am proud to deepen our partnership with Cosmax. By working closely together and combining our strengths, we will join forces to shape the future of beauty and create exceptional new experiences for consumers worldwide.”

The partnership will combine L’Oréal’s global consumer insights and beauty science with Cosmax’s K-beauty-inspired product development capabilities. The companies plan to jointly explore new cosmetic raw materials, active ingredients, sensory signatures and product formats, including concepts inspired by South Korean beauty trends and consumer preferences.

The deal points to a broader industry shift: K-beauty influence is increasingly moving beyond individual product trends toward formulation, sensory design and the development process itself. For ingredient suppliers and fragrance houses, that could create new opportunities around distinctive sensory experiences designed for global consumers.
