The recognition highlights a custom reloadable airless packaging solution developed for Clarins Total Eye Lift Eye Cream, combining premium aesthetics with reduced material usage and enhanced product protection. Presented during Luxe Pack New York, the award evaluated entries across creativity, innovation, execution, marketability and on-pack branding.

At the center of the innovation is Aptar Beauty’s patented Gaïa reloadable airless dispensing technology, engineered to support both sustainability goals and high-end consumer expectations. The system features a premium metal outer casing paired with replaceable plastic reloads designed to reduce material consumption while maintaining a luxury appearance and dispensing precision.

The packaging incorporates two patented technologies, including an intuitive push-and-pull refill mechanism inspired by a ballpoint pen and a double tamper-seal system intended to optimize formula protection and minimize contamination risk. Technical dispensing components are concealed within the outer casing, enabling a sleek, minimalist design while preserving functionality and product integrity.

The Clarins collaboration had already received industry recognition in 2025 with a Formes de Luxe Award in the dispensing category, further underscoring growing interest in refillable prestige beauty packaging solutions that balance sustainability with luxury positioning.

Ryan Kenny, president of Aptar Beauty North America, said the recognition reflects the company’s continued focus on circularity through refillable and recyclable packaging developed alongside customers seeking sustainable innovation. Xavier Joseph, vice president of global marketing and innovation for Aptar Beauty, added that the project demonstrates how custom-engineered dispensing systems can simultaneously deliver premium value, shelf differentiation and sustainability features.

The project also reflects a broader shift within prestige beauty packaging, where brands are increasingly integrating refillability and lifecycle reduction strategies directly into product architecture rather than treating sustainability as a secondary feature.
