Apackaging Group (APG) is opening a new facility in Defiance, Ohio that will offer R&D, compounding and formulation, manufacturing (bottle blowing, dispenser and cap manufacturing, and custom molding), filling and outer-package labels.

The new plant will reduce the 25% tariff associated with China production, while cutting production lead times by more than five weeks. It will also create a more sustainable end-to-end supply chain, with significant logistic improvements such as automated controls, assembly, palletization and material handling, according to the company. The new location will have a dedicated rail spur to optimize raw material transportations.
