Megan Fox No Makeup

Searches on "Megan Fox no makeup" are up 1,950% this week, per Google Trends. Recently, the actor posted a "makeup-free" selfie (some claim it was "minimal makeup") and it stirred fans' reactions, who claimed she didn't look like herself. Glamour reported on this response, and dug deeper to learn Fox had rhinoplasty in her early 20s and multiple breast surgeries.

It's interesting to see this obsession with celebrities "sans-makeup" continue. We've previously reported on increased searches for Pamela Anderson without makeup, for example. It seems the public wants to know the everyday person behind the makeup — and celebrities are more comfortable sharing this side of themselves.

I like to think this means the industry is successful in two ways: giving beauty consumers the tools to express themselves and create public-facing personas, and providing care and health benefits to skin and hair such that users are confident enough to stand bare-faced to the world.

Ahsoka Indian Makeup

Next up, per Google Trends, searches for "Ahsoka makeup Indian," "Ahsoka makeup" and "Asoka," rose 850%, 850% and 600%, respectively. This appears related to the exploding popularity of Indian bride transformation videos on TikTok, especially those responding to the "Asoka makeup challenge." In relation, Indian Express reported the Asoka makeup trend was triggered by Kareena Kapoor Khan's 2001 song.

The look features dark, kohl eyes; heavy mascara; gold, bronze and jewel-colored eyeshadow; bindis; and intricate kajal designs. One TikTok content creator, Lenie Aycardo, has racked up some 55 million views on her transformation video.

As an aside, for my nerd friends, Ahsoka is also a Star Wars character. But you already knew that.

Luxury Beauty Products

"Luxury beauty products" also top our trends list this week, although it's so broad. Google Trends reported searches were up 600% on this phrase.
