K-beauty is reshaping the competitive rules of the global beauty industry. According to new data from NIQ, global K-beauty value sales climbed 53% year over year and an impressive 131% over the past two years, underscoring the growing influence of ingredient-led innovation, social commerce and rapid product development. For product developers and marketers, winning the next wave of beauty growth will require spotting regional innovations earlier, moving faster from concept to launch and building products designed for digital discovery.

NIQ's K-Beauty Goes Global report shows momentum extending well beyond South Korea. Latin America emerged as one of the fastest-growing regions, with Brazil and Mexico posting 135% value growth, while Western Europe recorded a 58% increase, with Korean brands now accounting for approximately 10% of online skin care sales across the region and as much as 15-20% in markets including Italy, Spain and France.

North America also continues to expand rapidly, driven primarily by e-commerce, which now represents 76% of K-beauty sales. Canada reached $164 million in sales in 2025, growing 57% year over year.

Social commerce is proving to be one of the category's biggest accelerators. TikTok Shop searches for K-beauty increased 125% in the United Kingdom during 2025, while K-Beauty brand sales across TikTok Shop in the United States, United Kingdom, Spain and Germany surged 430% year over year, highlighting how content-driven discovery is translating directly into purchases.

Beyond sales growth, NIQ points to K-beauty as a blueprint for future beauty innovation. Product formats including sheet masks, acne patches, essences, serums and ampoules have evolved from niche routines into mainstream staples, while ingredients such as snail mucin, Centella asiatica and PDRN demonstrate how science-backed actives can quickly transition from regional specialties to global demand.

The report also identifies wellness, hair care, Latin America and the Middle East—where K-Beauty e-commerce grew 76%—as the next major opportunities for expansion.

For beauty brands, formulators and marketers, the implications extend beyond Korea. Faster innovation cycles, affordable high-performance formulations and commerce models built around social content are becoming the new competitive standard. NIQ concludes that companies able to identify emerging regional trends early and rapidly translate them into products and compelling digital stories will be best positioned to capture the industry's next phase of growth.
