Brand Finance has launched its annual list of what it argues are the strongest, most valuable and most sustainable (more on that in a moment) brands of the year.
Of the rankings, Annie Brown, Brand Finance's director, said, "As the cosmetics industry evolves, these brands exemplify the dynamic shifts and strategic innovations driving growth and consumer engagement in the sector. The relentless pursuit of excellence by these leaders not only shapes the contours of the global beauty landscape but also sets new benchmarks for success and sustainability in the industry."

Most Valuable Beauty Brands of 2024
L'Oréal was again the most valuable brand, with its value jumping 11% year-over-year, totaling $13.4 billion, per Brand Finance.
The value was tabulated based on the company's premiumization and strong sales growth.
Gillette was in second place, with year-over-year brand value growth of 13%, driven by pricing adjustments that boosted sales and a long-term partnership with the New York Yankees.
Garnier, meanwhile, saw its value jump 15% year-over-year, more than any other brand.
Strongest Beauty Brands of 2024
Natura was named the strongest brand of 2024, driven by its customer loyalty and familiarity and overall reputation. This designation came despite a 2% dip in brand value to $2 billion.
Fastest-growing Beauty Brands of 2024
Garnier was fastest-growing cosmetics brand, per Brand Finance, with its brand value up 15% to $D4.7 billion. Growth was driven in part by launches such as its Vitamin C Brightening Serum.
Other top performers included Axe/Lynx/Ego, which grew 14% to $1.9 billion. Growth was driven by the Fine Fragrance range launch, as well as strategic price hikes.
Most Sustainable (Perceived) Brands of 2024
Among the brands with the highest sustainability perception value, L'Oréal topped the list, per Brand Finance.
The ranking was driven by the company's social and environmental mission, including its Climate Emergency Fund.
