JD Lusteris reportedly acts as a non-volatile, low viscosity silicone alternative that provides film-forming capabilities for hair protection, which results in a healthy, shiny look. From shampoos and conditioners to serums and balms, the additive can be formulated for products across hair care lines.

A series of clinical studies was performed to test the effects of the active in hair. Here, volunteers in a control group applied hair serums without JD Lusteris and an experimental group used hair serums infused with the ingredient. The studies found the active provided:

  • a conditioning effect in dry and wet combing force measurement;
  • an up to 80% decrease in hair breakage; and
  • long-lasting hydration benefits to the hair and scalp.

“Because our hair is exposed to so many harmful factors daily, it was imperative to find a solution that could restore hair to its optimum state,” said Lee Reuveni, CEO of Jojoba Desert. “JD Lusteris expresses simplicity in its best form, leading to durable hair and scalp moisturization, hair protection, and a long-lasting conditioning effect.”
