Corley retires after a 45-year fragrance industry career that included leadership roles at IFF, where he oversaw global procurement and developed expertise in natural and sustainable raw materials; founding Royal Aromatics, later Trilogy Fragrances, which was acquired by Symrise in 2012; and helping establish Symrise's Purescent naturals division.
He joined Custom Essence in 2014 to launch the company's naturals division before becoming chief sales officer in 2016. During his tenure, Corley led the company's commercial organization, driving growth, strengthening customer relationships and expanding Custom Essence's position in the middle-market fragrance sector. He will continue to support the company as a consultant, assisting with the leadership transition and new business development.
Succeeding Corley is Steven Weaver, who joined Custom Essence in July 2025 as vice president of business development after nearly two decades at Symrise, where he most recently served as vice president of sales, North America. Weaver brings more than 20 years of commercial leadership experience managing multinational FMCG accounts and leading business development initiatives across the fragrance industry.
As chief sales officer, Weaver will lead Custom Essence's commercial organization, oversee strategic partnerships and drive the company's growth strategy in support of its 2030 business plan.
