With more than 15 years in the field of microbiomics, Givaudan Active Beauty is working toward boosting its position in the microbiome market with investments in active beauty and its metagenomics platform.
As the only fragrance company with in-house microbiome research capabilities, Givaudan is working to strengthen its product offerings to customers as part of the company’s 2020 strategy at its Applied Microbiomics Centre of Excellence in Toulouse, France.
“Not only are these investments in line with our 2020 company strategy, but [also] our astonishing advancements in microbiomics allow us to bring ground-breaking cosmetic concepts to new and existing customers,” explained Laurent Bourdeau, head of active beauty, Givaudan. “As the microbiome trend continues to grow, our teams will be at the forefront of this exciting area of scientific research.”
At the center, the company accelerates the high throughput screenings to offer more solutions and to develop active cosmetic ingredients, which are designed to activate, protect or balance the skin microbiota.
A couple award-winning active cosmetic ingredients from Givaudan include Brightenyl (INCI: Water (aqua) (and) Glycerin (and) Diglucosyl Gallic Acid) and Revivyl (INCI: Propanediol (and) Orobanche Rapum Extract).
