Algatechnologies has launched AstaPure natural astaxanthin to help develop safe and effective nutritional products with a strong sustainability proposition and complete traceability.
AstaPure is a multipurpose astaxanthin ingredient and is available in multiple formats for use in a wide variety of applications. The company uses supercritical CO2 technology to obtain astaxanthin in an oleoresin form, leaving no solvent residues. It is non-GMO project verified and certified as GMP, HACCP, ISO, halal and kosher.
The ingredient oleoresins are available in concentrations of 5%, 10% and 20%, which are ideal for use in easy-to-swallow softgel capsules and topical o/w cosmetics. AstaPure can also be supplied in the form of 3% whole algae powder or free-flowing, highly stable beadlets with 2.5% axtaxanthin for use in hard-shell capsules and tablets.
Based in Israel’s Arava desert, the company produces astaxanthin from the microalgae strain Haematococcus pluvialis in its "green" production facility. The facility harnesses solar power to develop the microalgae in an enclosed system of photobioreactors to ensure maximum energy at all times. The microalgae are grown in fresh water sourced from a local borehole, and 80% is purified and recycled to be used again.
