In order to enhance the in-store and mobile experience of beauty consumers, Macy's and ModiFace have created an augmented reality (AR) experience within the retailer's app.

The partnership will allow all Macy's app users to virtually try on more than 1,000 beauty products, including face, eye and lip cosmetics. Shoppers can choose to try on a single product or an entire look, which they can share on social media or directly with friends.

In addition to launching in the app, the AR feature will be available via in-store beauty displays at select locations nationwide.

Both the in-store and mobile experiences are expected to launch in late Spring 2019.

ModiFace currently has partnerships with Sephora, Pinterest and Facebook. Along with offering consumers the ability to try on color cosmetics, ModiFace has created other beauty AR solutions, including a live-video nail polish simulation and an AI skin diagnostic.
