Amazon is the first search destination for more than half of consumers, especially so during the holidays. This year, the retailer is reporting that it "shipped more than one billion items worldwide with Prime" alone, driven by the service's expansion in Canada.
The firm grew its effectiveness by offering free unlimited two-day shipping on all purchases. The Prime service also offers free same-day delivery seven days a week in Toronto and Vancouver. Fulfillment is aided by robotic facilities.
This holiday season the retailer also grew more mobile, with its Amazon app sales expanding by 56%. According to Amazon, more than 72% of its customers shopped using a mobile device this holiday.
