I’ll Make Just One Prediction


As I write this, 2019 is far from over, but certainly the acquisition of Drunk Elephant by Shiseido felt like something of a denouement for the year and, indeed, the first wave of this era’s indie leaders.

Beauty is never boring. This year has been marked by an inescapable CBD boom, tariffs and trade wars that have sped up the localization of the supply chain; challenges in makeup and an ongoing ascension of skin care; an expansion of wellness into technology and whole-body self-care; and an intensification of scrutiny on packaging and its impacts on the environment.
