Carmex Boosts its Karma with Redesign

Carma Laboratories Inc., the maker of Carmex lip balm, has a new look for the 80-year-old brand. The new packaging will feature softer, rounded edges and a new slightly curved logo that complements the rounded card shape.

The updated look started to appear on retailer shelves in late August 2016. The re-design coincides with the launch of New Carmex Comfort Care Lip Balm, the brand’s first natural lip balm line formulated with Colloidal Oatmeal and cold pressed fruit oil. Carmex Comfort Care Lip Balm also hit the shelves in August and will have its own unique look including softer color tones and a wider stick design.

“Evolving the Carmex brand image is certainly a decision we took very seriously and design choices were validated extensively with consumer research,” said Jona Mancuso, vice president of marketing at Carma Laboratories Inc. “Carmex has a very loyal consumer following and they have given the brand permission to evolve. We also expect that this evolution and future innovation will help attract new users to the Carmex brand.”
