Actives International has appointed Michelle Carrillo as CEO, signaling a new phase of expansion focused on science-driven, solution-based ingredient innovation.
Carrillo brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the beauty and personal care ingredient sector and joins at a time when demand is intensifying for sustainable, high-performance, and globally compliant actives.
In her new role, she will steer Actives International’s evolution from ingredient supplier to full innovation partner—strengthening customer collaborations, scaling R&D capabilities, and expanding market presence across skin, scalp, and hair care.
The company’s strategy centers on its Thoughtful Science philosophy, integrating performance, safety, transparency, and sustainability into ingredient development. A key growth pillar will be expanded investment in bio-fermentation technologies, including the ViaFerm portfolio of fermented actives targeting skin health, barrier repair, sensitive skin, healthy aging, and brightening claims.
Carrillo emphasized the company’s positioning at the intersection of consumer expectations and scientific innovation, highlighting opportunities to translate fermentation and natural chemistry platforms into differentiated, results-driven solutions.
