On September 22, 2026, specialty ingredient company Grant Industries announced the launch of the Grand and BCR Formulation Assistant, a digital tool developed with chemistry native AI leader Albert. The formulation assistant is available through Grant’s updated website and brings together approved knowledge from teams across Grant Industries and BCR.

Per the company press release, users can describe a formulation goal, challenge, format or claim and receive relevant information and recommendations from Grant’s resources. Further, the experience is designed to help formulators move from a question to a viable starting point.

“Formulators do not always begin with an ingredient name – they begin with a challenge, a texture, a claim or an idea they need to make real,” said Naomi Bedford, marketing director at Grant Industries. “This tool lets them start exactly there. By bringing together knowledge from across Grant and BCR in a conversational experience, we are making it easier to discover the right technologies, connect performance needs to practical solutions and accelerate the path from inspiration to formulation.

The Formulation Assistant is powered by Ask Albert, a chemistry-native AI that can answer scientific questions and take on adaptive roles across the business pipeline.

“Ask Albert’s purpose has always been to enhance an organization’s ability to innovate and succeed,” said senior product manager Oakley Reid. “Within R&D organizations, we accomplish this by accelerating the speed of invention. Within commercial organizations, we shorten the distance between what the market is asking for and what R&D is working on. Grant’s Formulation Assistant, built on Ask Albert technology, demonstrates just how powerful R&D intelligence becomes when embedded in a customer’s first interaction – and how customer interactions, in turn, influence R&D priorities.”

With this launch, Grant hopes to help R&D, product development and commercial teams formulate with more efficiency.
