Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant's new jelly-bush-honey-based Melicica ingredient (INCI: Glycerin (and) Water (and) Honey Extract) reportedly modulates the expression of genes that play a criticalo role in the skin’s natural repair process. Specifically, Melicica regulates inflammation, oxidative stress collagen production and keratinocyte migration, per the company.
In vitro research has reportedly found that the ingredient reduces the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and free radicals to mitigate inflammation and oxidative stress, enhance skin regeneration by modulating pro-collagen I production and accelerate re-epithelialization by stimulating keratinocyte migration.
Ex vivo studies have reportedly validated Melicica's capacity to modulate key gene expression across different phases of skin healing, optimizing skin repair and reducing scar appearance, per the supplier.
