Aptar Beauty has secured an ISTA-6 Amazon certification for the testing laboratory in its Chieti, Italy, facility. The lab is a key part of its “local for local” strategy, which leverages the company's global network to strengthen regional supply chains, speed up time-to-market and help customers qualify packaging closer to their distribution markets.

The ISTA-6 certification ensures e-commerce packaging is tested to withstand shipping challenges, reducing damage, minimizing returns and improving customer satisfaction.

In addition, Aptar Beauty is now part of Amazon's Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS) program.

The Chieti lab uses advanced technology to test packaging under real-world shipping conditions, following Amazon ISTA-6 protocols. It features tools like a vibration table and drop tester to simulate transportation and validate packaging durability. This helps Aptar Beauty ensure packaging resilience while reducing excess materials, allowing brands to claim e-commerce compatibility for their products.

“At Aptar Beauty, we understand that packaging is a critical part of the brand experience,” said Luigi Garofalo, global category director personal care and home care. “This is why we invested in new state-of-the-art equipment for our testing laboratory and obtained the ISTA-6 certification, recognizing our ability to perform advanced testing that meets the highest standards for e-commerce packaging.”
