Verescence Recognized for Sustainability Efforts

CDP, an environmental non-profit, has recognized Verescence for its efforts in corporate sustainability with an A ranking for water security and A- ranking for climate change. According to Verescence, it is the only glass bottle manufacturer to be on CDP’s A list in 2021.

By utilizing smart metering systems and reusing wastewater in the production process, Verescence has reduced its water consumption by 49% since 2016 and plans for all factories to reach the dry plant level by 2025, according to the company.

Between 2016 and 2019, the glassmaker reduced its CO2 emissions by 10% through continuous improvement plans and the installation of lower-emitting glass furnaces.

Verescence has committed to reducing its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2034, in accordance with the trajectory proposed by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Some of Verescence’s other sustainability accolades include the EcoVadis platinum medal in 2020.
