The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) hosted 350 of its top global suppliers this week in Cincinnati to discuss the continued collaboration with P&G for a sustainable future and to honor top performing suppliers.
"Our suppliers are critical partners in helping us bring innovation to life, manage our costs and improve productivity," said Keith Harrison, global product supply officer, P&G. "With the current global economic uncertainty, strong relationships with suppliers are more important than ever to achieving P&G's sustainability goals and supporting the company's growth today and going forward."
Diamond Packaging was among those to receive highest honors as "Suppliers of the Year" from among P&G's 80,000 suppliers. The company supplies P&G with packaging for multiple products—notably for blades and razors. Jones Lang LaSalle of Chicago, Illinois (facilities management services) and RTC of Chicago (in-store marketing displays) were also recognized.
"We want to honor and recognize our suppliers for superior performance, service and partnership to our business," said Rick Hughes, vice president of global purchases, P&G. "Top performing partners who understand our business and can see their role in our goals help us turn challenges into opportunities, even into competitive advantages."
"Suppliers of the Year" achieved this recognition by consistently scoring the highest in broad-based quantitative and qualitative evaluations by P&G employees throughout the supply chain.
"In return for our suppliers' collaboration and contributions, we want them to also understand that P&G is equally committed to their success," said Hughes. "We work towards that goal every day but we also had a desire to bring together our top suppliers to illustrate our commitment and emphasize P&G's collaboration going forward."
In addition to the "Supplier of the Year" awards, all companies performing consistently at high levels within P&G's internal supplier performance management system earned the "Excellence Award."
