K-beauty is starting strong heading into 2025. Anua is reportedly the first Korean beauty brand to enter all 1,500 physical Ulta Beauty stores; the rollout is expected to be complete in February 2025. The brand has already landed online at Ulta.
The move comes amid a general resurgence of K-beauty, most recently evidenced by L'Oréal Groupe's acquisition of Korea's Dr.G.
Ulta has already been engaged in the K-beauty space, with existing distribution for Peach & Lily, CosRX, Ma:nyo and more.
Anua was founded in 2019 by brand incubator The Founders, led by co-CEOs Lee Sunhyung and Lee Changjoo. The brand retails at eBay Japan and entered the U.S. market in 2022 (via Amazon); it has purportedly charted more than 200% annual growth since its launch.
The brand's top sellers include the Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner, Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil and Heartleaf 77 Clear Pad.
The brand is launching with its Heartleaf and Rice lines; the Ulta rollout will also include promotional gifts such as a complimentary mini cleansing oil for online purchases and a double cleansing duo for in-store customers.
"This Ulta Beauty partnership will significantly strengthen our global presence by expanding our reach to local consumers," said an Anua representative. "Through Anua's innovative product development and enhanced customer experience, we will accelerate our growth trajectory toward becoming the leading global K-beauty brand by establishing a comprehensive omnichannel distribution network."
