Albéa & Colgate Launch First Recyclable Toothpaste Tube

  • Colgate has partnered with Albea to take its eco packaging to the next stage.

In a display of Albéa and Colgate-Palmolive’s commitments to responsible packaging, in Europe Colgate has launched “Smile for Good” toothpaste in a tube made with high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which is made from a single-blown film and is manufactured by Albéa.

HDPE is a polymer that is widely used for milk containers and other plastic bottles and is widely recycled.

The Colgate tube is the first to be recognized as recyclable by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) and RecyClass, an initiative that works on improving the recyclability of packaging, which sets recyclability standards for North America and Europe, respectively.
