Sun Chemical Acquires Kingfisher

Sun Chemical (Parsippany, New Jersey) and its parent company, DIC, have expanded their color portfolio with the acquisition of Kingfisher Colours Limited, a decorative cosmetics color manufacturer based in Reading, United Kingdom.

The acquisition also provides Sun Chemical with greater access to developing markets.

James Ward, supply chain director at Sun Chemical Performance Pigments, will manage Kingfisher Colours and its integration into Sun Chemical’s existing global cosmetics business, which is led by Bart Vanderbiest, the global director of cosmetics.

“The addition of Kingfisher’s diverse, high quality product lines and specialized tailor-made products will further expand Sun Chemical’s cosmetics and personal care product offerings globally,” said Myron Petruch, president of Sun Chemical Performance Pigments. “Sun Chemical has experienced tremendous growth in the global cosmetics market and this acquisition will help us grow quickly into this strategic market and enable us to better serve our customers.”
