Sebastian James Named SVP and Managing Director of Boots

Sebastian James has been named the new senior vice president, president and managing director of Boots, Walgreens Boots Alliance announced.

He will assume his new role on September 1, 2018, the beginning of the company’s new fiscal year; he will join the company summer 2018.

James has served as group chief executive of Dixons Carphone, an electrical and telecommunications retailer and service company, since 2014. He has also held positions at Synergy Insurance Services, Silverscreen Holdings, The Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Company.

Outgoing senior vice president and managing director Elizabeth Fagan, who held the position since June 2016, will remain with the organization in the role of non-executive chairman.

I also want to warmly thank Elizabeth who has been leading the business very successfully for the last 18 months or so, and in her over 11 years with the Company has made an invaluable contribution. She will continue to do so in her next role.”
