Shiseido has announced its first-half 2021 results, which showed net sales were 507.7 billion yen, compared to 417.8 billion yen in the first-half of 2020, representing an 21.5% increase.

Operating profit was 23 billion yen. 

Gross profit for the first-half of 2021 was 382.7 billion yen, compared to 316.9 billion yen in the previous year.

Skin beauty brands drove growth up 15%. Shiseido and Clé de Peau Beauté showed the most growth in skin care brand net sales with 27% and 26% gains, respectively. 

Upcoming/Recent Launches

Shiseido relaunched its serum Ultimune in July 2021 in Japan, China and other Asian countries. It is the third relaunch of the product. 

The company will be launching Second Skin in October 2021, an artificial skin technology that covers under-eye bags. There will also be a global rollout of Drunk Elephant in October 2021.
