The New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) has announced that Supergoop! will lead a featured keynote at Suppliers’ Day 2026. The presentation, titled “Supergoop! Ignites Innovation: Elevating SPF Into a Skin Care Ritual,” is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. Executives Melis del Rey (CEO) and Akshay Talati (chief innovation officer) will join Kathryn Hopkins of WWD to discuss the evolution of sun protection from a functional burden into a desirable daily habit.

For decades, the sun care category has struggled with inconsistent consumer adoption due to poor textures and heavy wearability. Supergoop! has disrupted this cycle by merging formulation science with sensorial design, creating products that integrate seamlessly into modern lifestyles. CEO Melis del Rey emphasizes that while awareness of sun safety is high, real behavioral change is driven by innovation that removes friction and makes the experience joyful.

This keynote aligns with the event's broader theme, “Breaking Beauty Boundaries with Science,” highlighting the critical role of ingredient advancement in category growth. As the largest ingredients and formulation event in North America, Suppliers’ Day 2026 will host nearly 700 exhibitors and provide over 100 hours of specialized education, supporting professionals across the full product development lifecycle.
