The 2026 Cosmoprof & Cosmopack Awards in Bologna once again spotlighted the most forward-thinking beauty innovations worldwide, with winners spanning ingredients, formulation, packaging, devices, and finished products. Organized in collaboration with BeautyStreams, the “Oscars of Beauty” recognized breakthroughs judged on innovation, circularity, and market potential—signaling where the industry is heading next.

Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2026 brought together 3,104 exhibitors from 68 countries representing more than 10,000 brands, with 37% new exhibitors and a strong international mix (80% global, 20% Italian). The event spans the entire cosmetics supply chain through Cosmopack and Cosmoprof halls, hosting 1,366 companies in fragrances and cosmetics, 1,079 in professional hair, nail and beauty, and 659 in supply chain and manufacturing, supported by 33 national pavilions, including new entries such as Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Portugal, Hungary, and Uzbekistan. With visitors and buyers from over 150 countries and matchmaking activity spanning 94 countries, the show continues to scale globally, reinforced by rising digital engagement—led by strong growth in new leads from Asia (+53%), North America (+28%), and the Middle East (+23%)—positioning Bologna as a central hub where the global beauty supply chain converges to drive business, innovation, and market expansion.

A dominant theme this year was system-level sustainability paired with biotech-driven performance. Finland’s Origin by Ocean impressed jurors with OCEANBOOS, an upcycled algae-derived ingredient that tackles inflammaging while actively restoring marine ecosystems. Similarly, Romania’s CAHM Europe stood out for eliminating single-use plastic entirely with its water-activated cleansing pearl system, cutting CO₂ emissions by up to 99% across the value chain.

In technology and formulation innovation, Taiwan’s O’right redefined hair perming with ammonia-free, thioglycolic-free bonding science built around cysteamine chemistry and upcycled actives. South Korea’s COSMAX pushed emulsion science further with a “nano-density” moisturizer delivering 30% oil content in an ultra-light texture, while Intercos (Italy) and REGI Group demonstrated how biomimetic delivery systems and “whipped” sensory textures are reshaping both haircare and makeup performance.

Packaging and devices also moved firmly into engineering-led sustainability and experience design. Shinkwang M&P’s gas-free spray system replaced aerosols with mechanical air compression for safer, fully recyclable dispensing, while Maletti Group elevated salon care with a multi-sensory wash unit combining Ayurvedic-inspired treatments, steam, and immersive design.

Across categories—from skincare and sun care to nails and men’s grooming—the winning products increasingly blurred the line between cosmetics, biotechnology, and wellness tech. Whether it was NAD+ longevity actives paired with red-light devices, probiotic nail repair systems, or cooling high-SPF mists designed for full-body use, the message was consistent: beauty is becoming a convergence of science, sustainability, and experience.

Bottom line: Cosmoprof 2026 makes one thing clear—future beauty innovation isn’t just about better formulas. It’s about integrated systems that connect environmental impact, biological performance, and user experience in a single design logic.
