BASF Invests in Uvinul A Plus Production Plant

BASF is investing in a Uvinul A Plus (INCI: Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate) production plant that will now be built at the Care Chemicals Jinshan production site in China. The plant is expected to be ready by the first half of 2023 and will have a capacity of 1,500 metric tons per year.

With the investment, BASF adds to its UV filter portfolio in Asia. The company already produces broad-spectrum UV filters (Tinosorb S (INCI: Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine)) at the Care Chemicals production site in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Uvinul A Plus is a photostable UVA filter and provides protection from free radicals and skin damage. The patented oil-soluble granule form offers formulation flexibility, is free of preservatives and is efficient at low concentrations. The active can be formulated for long-lasting sun care and skin care with anti-aging efficacy.

Our site in Jinshan maintains high competency in manufacturing standards and is granted with multiple certifications like EFfCI GMP (European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients Good Manufacturing Practice) and RSPO (Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil). It produces a broad portfolio of emollients and specialty cosurfactants for the personal care industry.”
