Positioned as part of IFF’s broader drive to accelerate innovation from lab to market, the launches reflect an integrated R&D, operations, and perfumery approach. “A key priority for us is accelerating innovation, from idea to industrial scale,” said Ana Paula Mendonça, president, IFF Scent. “Pomarina and Orionide Oliffac are strong examples of our end-to-end model in action.”
Pomarina is designed to deliver a vivid fruity freshness profile, characterized by apple, pear, banana, strawberry and fig nuances. Built for high impact at low dosage, the material enhances both top and heart notes while extending brightness and longevity. IFF notes its allergen-free profile and stability across applications, including water-based systems, positioning it as a versatile tool for perfumers seeking clean, modern fruity signatures.
Orionide Oliffac responds to continued reformulation pressure in the musk space, offering a soft, creamy, radiant musk base composed of 88% readily biodegradable ingredients. Designed as a modern alternative to legacy musk materials such as Galaxolide, it combines a clean musk profile with subtle floral undertones and a light animalic facet, while maintaining strong performance at low dosage.
On performance and efficiency, Brian Campbell, vice president perfumer, Scent, IFF, highlighted Orionide Oliffac’s longevity and drydown structure, describing it as delivering a “powerful powdery musk top note with an exceptionally long-lasting ambery and musky drydown,” with emphasis on both olfactive impact and cost performance.
Both materials sit within IFF’s Oliffacs platform—ready-to-use fragrance bases designed to provide standardized yet flexible building blocks across olfactive families. The company will showcase Pomarina, Orionide Oliffa, and additional innovations from LMR Naturals by IFF at SIMPPAR, underscoring its continued focus on synthetic and natural innovation streams within its fragrance portfolio.
