The 2023 BSB innovation award winners for cosmetic ingredients have been revealed.
Among the winners were Jojoba Desert's JD Lusteris, which secured the top spot in the Cosmetics/ Raw materials/Functionals and Recipients category. The natural emollient, derived from jojoba oil, reportedly creates a biome-friendly alternative to nonvolatile low viscosity silicones.
Meanwhile, BASF Personal Care received second place in the category cosmetics/raw materials – active substances for Probiolift and Postbiolift, biotic ingredients based on a bacterium found in youthful skin.
BASF also took second place in the category of natural products/raw materials – actives for Enameguard, a naturally derived oral care product that is said to support and restore the mouth’s mineral balance.
Finally, the company took third place in the category of cosmetics/raw materials – functionals and recipients for Euperlan NL Pearl, a COSMOS-compliant, wax-based pearlizer made for rinse-off applications.
