Ichimaru Pharcos Launches Milltect, Biofilm Formation Inhibitor

Ichimaru Pharcos has launched Milltect (INCI: Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Codium Fragile Extract), intended to inhibit biofilm formation (dental plaque) that causes oral infections such as dental caries and periodontal diseases.

Millect also blocks oral pellicles before bacterial adhesion and can bind to some antibiotics like cetylpyridinium chloride. As a result, antibiotics are kept on the surface of the tooth and work more effectively, according to the company.
