“For Aptar, inclusive innovation isn’t just a goal, it’s a mindset. By embedding universal design principles into our company culture, we empower our teams to create solutions with purpose, in a way that reflects the diversity of our global community,” says Marcia Thomas, global chief diversity officer for Aptar Group
APF France Rewards Inclusive Design and Accessible Products
APF France handicap is a national organization advocating for the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities. Its innovation department, the TechLab, specializes in inclusive design and supports companies in developing more accessible products and services by involving people with disabilities and seniors directly in the design process.
The “Inclusive Designer” label was created by TechLab in collaboration with the Technology for Change Chair at Institut Polytechnique de Paris, which explores the intersection of innovation, inclusion and sustainability. TechLab awarded Aptar Beauty Level 1 certification under this label.
Valid for three years, this label certifies that the company meets a high standard of inclusivity in the design of its products and services, mainly by involving diverse individuals with reduced mobility, disabilities and seniors early in the creative process. Aptar Beauty conducts collaborative ideation workshops in partnership with APF France handicap to test new packaging prototypes as well as existing products.
