Walgreens is shuttering two online pureplay sites to refocus its omnichannel strategy.
According to a recent report, Walgreens Boots Alliance is shuttering Beauty.com and Drugstore.com in a bid to boost its omnichannel strategy and move away from digital pure-play platforms.
The closure will incur a $115 million pre-tax charge, according to RetailDive, but will play a part in cutting $1.5 billion from the retailer's costs.
Walgreens, which is in the midst of an acquisition of Rite Aid, previously sold off Skinstore.com.
