Hourglass' newest Confession Lipstick features Red 0, a patent-pending vegan alternative to carmine, which is produced from cochineal insects. The pigment allows the brand to boast cruelty-free and vegan credentials for the lipstick.
In a nod to carmine's source, the slim applicator features a beetle; it is compatible with the brand's full Confession refill range.
The formulation itself is creamy, saturated and long-wearing, with a satin finish. Other Confession shades include nudes, mauves, pinks, berries and reds.
The lipstick's suggested retail is $40.
