Sephora has announced a new partnership with international makeup artist Aaron de Mey. In his newly created position with Sephora, de Mey will serve as artistry ambassador.
Known for his tasteful style and unique approach to makeup, as well as his incredible technical skill in creating the impression of flawless skin, de Mey’s primary role will be to impart his expertise to Sephora through a variety of educational workshops, makeup services and creative consultation sessions. He will also collaborate with Sephora Pro, the brand’s team of elite makeup artists, to further advance the overall artistry expertise of the company.
“We are thrilled to welcome Aaron to the Sephora team,” said Lina Kutsovskaya, VP and executive creative director of Sephora. “He brings not only his exceptional skill, but a relatable and engaging personality to our artistry program. Our Pro team is excited to bring this new expertise into stores and share it with our clients, and we are looking forward to weaving his take on the next wave of global beauty trends into our creative vision.”
New Zealand-born de Mey demonstrates a masterful control of color and texture, and draws inspiration from a wide range of cultural references, which have led to creative alliances with some of the world's leading photographers. His work can be found in the pages of top international fashion magazines, and luxury fashion houses such as Dior, Prada, and Givenchy have collaborated with de Mey time and time again. His trend-setting looks also have graced the runways for top designers, including Saint Laurent, Chloe, Comme des Garcons, Prada, Miu Miu, Giorgio Armani, Armani Prive, Emporio Armani, Givenchy, Givenchy Couture, Rick Owens, The Row, and L’Wren Scott.
“Sephora is an incredible source of inspiration for any makeup artist, and I couldn’t be more excited about our new partnership,” said de Mey. “I’ve already encountered extraordinary artists working at the store level for Sephora, and I’m proud to help broaden their expertise even further.”
