Instrumentation can simplify and improve product sensory development, particularly for pigmented products.

That's where C.W. Brabender's Absorptometer "C" comes in, offering product developers a new tool for automating texture development, leveraging repeatable processes, easing scale-up of products, speeding up the product development process and saving unnecessary costs.

The Brabender Absorptometer “C” is a tabletop instrument with a torque measurement system (dynamometer), which is used for the precise and reproducible determination of the oil absorption number (OAN) of powdery materials. The oil absorption number (OAN) is widely used for characterizing the structure of carbon blacks and other free-flowing materials that have a strong effect on the processing parameters and the quality of the product.

The test method is based on the changes of the consistency of powdery materials during oil absorption.
