Clarisonic, the facial cleansing brush brand used by consumers for over a decade, has announced it will no longer be in business as of September 30, 2020, so owner L'Oréal can focus attention on its other core offerings, according to the brand.
The brand has advertised all devices and brush heads on sale for 50% off. Once inventory is sold out online, Clarisonic suggests shoppings at its authorized retailer sites while supplies last.
According to Harpers Bazaar magazine, the brand launched its first sonic cleansing device in 2004 and has reportedly sold more than 15 million brushes. The brand was bought by L'Oréal in 2011.
As previously reported, Clarisonic was facing a proposed class-action lawsuit in June 2020 claiming the products are unusable due to a waterproofing defect that causes product failure when used in the shower, bath or sink.
