Groupe Rocher's acquisition of Sabon will fund future global growth.

According to reports, Groupe Rocher has acquired more than 50% of Israeli cosmetics brand Sabon. The company is valued at NIS 500 million, or about $130 million, and has 175 stores around the world particularly in the United States, Japan and Israel, as well as Europe and Asia.

Groupe Rocher will reportedly eventually take a full stake in the company.

The deal is part of a larger robust M&A and investment environment in global beauty.

Sabon owners Sigal Kotler-Levy and Avi Piatok will reportedly receive NIS 125 million via the deal, which is expected to support further global expansion, and will remain in leadership positions.

Groupe Rocher's other brands include Yves Rocher and Petit Bateau and had total sales of more than €2 billion in 2015.
