Shiseido Company, Limited (Shiseido) has announced its support for the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
Shiseido will now actively promote the disclosure of information concerning business risks and opportunities created by climate change, from perspectives including strategy, risk management and governance based on the TCFD recommendations; it will also promote environment-related measures including CO2 emissions reduction.
Earlier this year, Shiseido released its “Beauty Innovations for a Better World” corporate mission, which includes the Social Value Creation Division, dedicated to accelerating the creation of social values in relation to the environment, society and culture.
Said the company in a press release: “We believe that, in order to achieve a long-term, sustainable corporate growth, it is essential not only to realize economic values but also to contribute to creating social values through business operations at the same time.”
