Univar Solutions Signs Business Ambition for 1.5°C

Univar Solutions has signed the Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign, pledging to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2050.
Univar Solutions has signed the Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign, pledging to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2050.

Global chemical and ingredient distributor, Univar Solutions, announced it has signed the Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign–supported by the United Nations Global Compact, which the company is a signatory member of–and aims to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2050.

Univar’s goal to achieve net carbon neutrality is in line with the campaign’s goal to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Using the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), Univar will measure its net carbon neutrality progress while ensuring transparency and cross-industry comparability.

“Univar Solutions is ready, willing and able to support this important campaign through our approach to sustainability, which includes our carbon neutrality target and our commitment to the UNGC,” said David Jukes, Univar Solutions president and chief executive officer. “This marks a significant milestone in our global journey to a more sustainable future for Univar Solutions and our stakeholders.”
