The eco-wave has prevailed in skin care and hair care for nearly two decades, but one area in personal care has lagged slightly behind: hygiene, including specialty personal care.

“The antiperspirant/deodorant category has been slower than other categories to catch up with the sustainable and clean beauty movement,” notes Sebastien Massard, global director of strategic marketing, Vantage Personal Care.

This has been partly due to the innate needs of the category, often requiring super-strength ingredients, as well as long-lasting capabilities and specialty packaging. In fact, they’re demanding brands that can prove sustainability throughout the entire supply chain, just as in their preferred skin and hair care products. Read on to see some brands and suppliers that are at the leading the charge in eco-friendly body care.
