CEW Hosts 2014 Insiders’ Choice Beauty Awards

Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) presented its 20th Annual Insiders’ Choice Beauty Awards, May 16, 2014, in the Grand Ballroom of New York’s Waldorf-Astoria. The gala award luncheon has come to represent the best in beauty, as well as the trends supported by the industry’s most innovative products each year.

“Each year we see the innovation that is coming from both the big and the small companies," said Carlotta Jacobson, president, CEW. "I’m very honored to recognize them.” She cited presenting sponsor The Meredith Corporation and thanked the other sponsors of the 2014 CEW Beauty Awards: Givaudan, Crest and Oral-B 3D White, QVC, U by Kotex, Walgreens, Unilever, Beauty Inc, Arcade Marketing, DSM Personal Care, Yahoo!, Birchbox, RPG, Conair, MaCher, Albéa, Rpr Marketing Communications, Mintel, Sally Hansen, Yes To Inc., KraftWorks, Consultancy Media, Suite K, Raw Media, Proof 7, The Natural Step, WWD, The NPD Group and Ernst & Young.

Jill Scalamandre, chairwoman of CEW and SVP of Philosophy Brand and Coty Prestige Skincare, cited the major milestones of the CEW Beauty Awards over 20 years—including the fact that the awards program began with 35 products across seven categories and has grown to include 750 products from 300 companies, across 36 product categories.

CEW this year announced the winners of the first ever Iconic Beauty Award, sponsored by DSM Personal Care, which recognized two products (one in mass and one in prestige), that have transcended 20 or more years in the industry. The Iconic Beauty Award winner in mass was Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara, and YSL Beauté Touche Éclat was the winner in the prestige category.
