Iris Ventures, a global investment firm responsible for beauty and wellness brands, has made a multimillion-dollar minority investment in Goddess Maintenance Co., a biotech beauty brand pioneering a new bioprotection category for hair care and protection

"Partnering with Iris felt like a natural next step," said Lauren Vesler, CEO of Goddess Maintenance Co. "While we weren't actively seeking investment, their deep understanding of the beauty industry, unwavering commitment to innovation and belief in our mission to pioneer bioprotection in hair care made them the ideal partner to help us scale our vision globally."

Montse Suarez, founder and managing partner at Iris Ventures, said, "Goddess is at the forefront of science-led beauty, pioneering the bioprotection category and redefining what's possible in professional hair care. With its proprietary molecule, deep stylist-first approach and global ambition, Goddess is delivering a true breakthrough that bridges the gap between repair and maintenance, transforming how we think about long-term hair health. It's rare to see a brand so deeply rooted in science yet so emotionally resonant with both professionals and consumers alike."

Earlier this year, the brand released its BioTech Blowout Leave-In Restorative Mask. Powered by its multi-benefit Goddess Molecule formula, the mask protects and strengthens hair from the inside out while forming a lightweight barrier that shields against heat, pollution and frizz for smoother, faster and longer-lasting blowouts.

Spider-Inspired Design, Chain Mail Defense

The brand is built on its Goddess Molecule, developed in partnership with biomaterials manufacturer Bolt. Inspired by the structure of spider silk, celebrated for its extraordinary strength and flexibility, the molecule forms scaffold-like chains that wrap around each strand to defend hair against environmental and chemical damage.

The dual-action molecule penetrates the cuticle to reinforce the structure at the hair's cortex. The result is a chain mail-style protective effect that strengthens from within, reduces styling time, improves manageability and extends salon finishes.

Inside the Goddess Molecule

The dual-action system is built on two different molecules that work together to create a scaffold-like structure to deliver hair transformation from the inside out.

Molecule A: The Shield and Sculptor

Molecule A is the larger of the two, designed to sit on the hair’s surface. It acts as a protective barrier, smoothing and coating each strand to create a "pillowy" layer of defense against environmental stressors, heat and humidity.

Its size prevents it from penetrating the hair shaft, allowing it to focus on fortifying and beautifying the surface for soft, glossy, frizz-free strands.

Key Features

  • Forms a reflective, polished surface that enhances shine and smoothness
  • Shields hair from heat damage up to 450°F
  • Protects against external aggressors like pollution and humidity while locking in hydration

Molecule B: The Builder and Restorer

Molecule B is smaller and faster-moving, designed to penetrate deep into the hair shaft. It binds to the hair’s internal structure, delivering targeted reinforcement to repair and strengthen hair from within.

Molecule B doesn’t just repair damage; it works to improve hair’s resilience over time, ensuring each strand is stronger and healthier with continued use.

Key Features:

  • Primarily works inside the hair shaft, rebuilding damaged areas and enhancing elasticity
  • Prepares the surface of the hair by triggering it for Molecule A, ensuring seamless adhesion and enhanced performance
  • Helps prevent breakage and split ends by fortifying the hair at its core
